I have been a coolpix fan for years. However, my last two attempts to upgrade from my S51 have been incredibly disappointing. This is a nice little camera with a great interface, but the picture quality is really bad. I had the same experience with the S60. In both cases, I took pictures with the new coolpix and with my S51, and then compared them on the computer to be sure all the photo settings were exactly the same. The difference in photo quality is undeniable. The S70 is getting returned.
Note: For some reason, Amazon is listing different reviews for the different colors of this camera. The version in red has the most reviews. Be sure to check there for more consumer opinions.

THIS CAMERA DID NOT WORK AND I HAD TO SEND IT BACK TO THE NIKON COMPANY SO IT COULD BE FIXED… I WAS HIGHLY UPSET ABOUT THIS PURCHASE DO TO THE FACT THAT IT DID NOT WORK AND I PAID GOOD MONEY FOR IT!!!
