Does more than you think
I am no stranger to AV components, and this projector is by far the best toy I’ve ever purchased. DLP projectors are typically used in a business setting, but this is perfect for movies. I have it projecting on a 6 ft wide screen at 12ft away, and the image is crisp and clear, I’m even considering getting a larger screen since the picture shows no sign in downgrading when magnified. What they don’t tell you on here is that you CAN connect a COMPONENT signal to this to allow the correct 1080 picture as you may export through a PS3, XBOX360, or BluRay or DVD, etc… The only problem is, there is no Component inputs, only VGA’s, so you have to hunt for an elusive Component to VGA adapter. You will not find it in any store really. I tried and I couldn’t find it, but the user guide shows a picture of one like it is the most common item on earth. You will have to hunt online, and I managed to find one on Amazon for about $15.00, and it is definitly worth it, you might as well get two if you have multiple devices, since this projector has 2 VGa inputs.

I use an S-Video cable to go from my cable receiver to the projector and that provides a clear-as-day picture as well, though not as good as the component to VGA input I’m also running.

The projector has a nice built in source finder that allows me to change sources on my surround sound receiver, and the projector will then spend about 5 to 15 seconds looking for the new source, and pick the correct one as output through the receiver, and you don’t have to touch it. Once the projector is on, you never really need to do anything else with it, so you can control everything through a receiver if you have one, volume, channel, etc.

I expected to be dissapointed when I only found a RCA yellow video input on the back and an S-video cable input, but when I dove through the manual and saw that you could get a good quality signal to it, I was immediately happy that I did not spend $200 more to get a projector with Component inputs already on it. I think the $15 cable is a better deal to hunt for.

The unit powers on fairly slow, and you have to give it about a whole minute to actually get to the source once it starts up, but when if shuts down, that process is fairly fast. It runs the fan for about 30 seconds real hard, then shuts down instantly.

The adjuster feet on the unit are really easy to use if you have this sitting on top of something rather than hanging. You are able to move a height adjusting foot in the front of the projector, and one leg in the back to level the projector from left to right, then adjust the height to correct in front. The keystone setting can be changed from the remote, as well as a “Zoom” function that will allow you to fine-tune the projected image size without losing clarity. The focus knob is easy to use and will only give you a tiny window of perfect picture, so you will not need to fool around with it very much.

The lighting this puts out is intense, and I can leave all the lights on and all the windows open, and I can still make out the screen image perfectly and clearly, though this is best used in a darker setting. Aesthetically, the projector is clean looking and small, has no unecessary curves, and blends in against any and all of your audio equipment as just another “component”

If you’re looking for a business projector, I guess you can buy this, but if you are trying to make a budget home theater, and have come across this particular optoma unit, I’m going to have to vouch for it’s abilities. It really surprised me. The only reason I’d spend more is to show off, because I’m very satisfied. I also spent less on this and a screen than I did on my 36″ Flat panel tv.

Dream projector for home theater
I bought this machine one week ago. The weird is I cannot find the model in Optoma website when I wanted to register it. The customer service answered me that DX617 was equal to the EX532. If that’s the case, the lumens of the machine actually are 2800 instead of 2600. The picture quality is awesome. It’s bright and you even can watch movie with lights on. When I play DVD, the picture is very similar as movie in the cinema. I also bought a screen. However, it seems no use since projecton on wall is good enough. I will sell the screen.
I recommend this product for all home theaters. You cannot imagine a better machine with this price.

Outstanding performance for the price
This is the best product in it’s price range by far. The resolution and contrast are very good. I set it up very quickly right out of the box. This latest model solves the cost of ownership problem of the prior models by reducing lamp costs and extending lamp life. I’m glad I bought it.

Finally there’s Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, the star Walter Lantz inherited from an earlier (1927-28) Walt Disney/Ub Iwerks regime at Universal. Disney reacquired some rights to Oswald in 2006; last year saw a selection released in their Walt Disney Treasures line. But Universal retained rights to its beget Oswald material, and Woody Vol. 2 brings us another shrimp, tempting quintet.

The inventive, critical dusky and white classics are a fascinatingly different viewing experience from anything else on this box, as wannabe hero Oswald is smacked by Tex Avery’s earliest gags. A long-lost color Oswald featuring girlfriend Fanny, SPRINGTIME SERENADE, is here too.

With current Oswald dolls and merchandise now available in stores, one can only hope Universal will tie in by taking the next step — to release a multi-volume disc area on the Woody model, but with Oswald as the main character. From Icy CON CARMEN’s pre-Betty Boop hooch dance to the cyborg T-Rex of STONE AGE, from the impossible ocean tricks of PERMANENT WAVE to Oswald’s surrealist, pre-Wackyland adventures on MARS, there are dozens of these classics crying for a release.

After watching the B&W cartoons on disc 1, I want to add that I am surprised at how well the Lantz studio imitaded other studios.

Take “SHE DONE HIM Suitable”, if you did not witness the production credits you would protest that you were watching a 1933 Max Fleischer Betty Boop cartoon.

“A HAUNTING WE WILL GO” may first remind you of a Disney cartoon, but with the racist “Lil’ Eightball” starring character it reminds me more of the MGM/Harmon-Ising “BOSKO IN A Terrorized HOUSE” cartoon.

The precise intelligent surprise is the last Oswald presented on this disc, “THE PUPPET Demonstrate”. This strangely combines live puppets with an Moving Oswald as the puppeteer. At first I understanding he was added to an existing puppet short, but as the film goes on there is an absorbing dream sequence of the puppets. Was Universal trying to savce an aborted puppet film project? Was the employ of live action puppets a cost-saving diagram to salvage the years productions encourage on budget? Either arrangement, it makes for a nice departure from the standard Lantz cartoons of that time.

“Splendid TODAY” is a obsolete Tex Avery inspired cartoon, “JOLLY Petite ELVES” reminds you of some Leon Slessinger/Warner Brothers cartoons & “CANDY LAND” could be from any studio of that time.

It appears that Lantz did not derive a trusty style of his enjoy until Woody Woodpecker & Andy Panda came on the scene.

It would be hard for me to think buying a volume 3, but this location is level-headed well worth getting!

Bushnell Elite 3200
This scope is as good as it gets. Adjustable Objective for this kind of money and quality is unheard of. I have this on my Savage 10fp .308, and it is spot on from the first time I have sighted it in. Don’t spend twice the money on another scope vs this one.

Fantastic Scope, Well Worth The Money
I purchased this scope with the Firefly option to replace a cheap 3X9X40 that came with the 270 Remington 710 I purchased. The quality is unmistakable. I mounted it, sighted it in, and immediately traveled to my tree stand. An hour later, I was successful in hitting a buck right on target at about 130 yards. My best hunting friend has always told me you need to dial in on the hair you want to shoot. This is easily accomplished with this scope. Purchase it, you will not be disappointed.

Excellent scope for the money
I placed this scope on a Remington 700 target tactical rifle. The scope is extremely clear and easy to use. In fact, using a bushnell boresiter, it was the fastest I’ve ever lined a rifle up. I’m very pleased with the product. Some thing to think about though, you need a scope mount with 20 moa to hit a target at 1000 yards. Niteforce makes an excellent one for 86 dollars. Holds Macbook Pro and two DSLRs
I was tired of using a backback since I would have to put it down to access the insides. Backpacks are great since they give you access to everything at once.

I wanted a location bag that would swallow two camera bodies, a 24-70 2.8L, 50mm 1.4, 3 pocket wizards, 2 Canon 580ex flashes, a Sekonic 558 light meter, my 15″ Macbook Pro, and accessories. You’ll want a shoulder bag if you want to have access to your gear on the go. I looked this up on google and saw a video of how much this thing packed and that is what convinced me.

This bag is very deep, so you might want your lesser used items towards the bottom.

The material is of high quality, and the bright orange in the inside makes it easy to find your gear in the dark. I would highly recommend this bag.

It’s Huge, Tiny E!
This bag is huge. it’s perfect. but it’s huge. totally customizable. i got it because i’ve got the 17″ MBP that i need to haul around. but it totally houses my Sony A1U, Nikon D70s, 17″MBP and lots of accessories. good for carry-on size. just watch out that you don’t whack someone with it as you’re walking down the aisle of the plane!

Big outside, Tiny inside.
I’ve been using this bag for about 6 weeks now, both walking around the city and taking it on a photo trip. I bought it as it seemed to be the only bag that met carry-on restrictions, would fit most of my equipment, and make it easy to access 2 cameras with different lenses on them instead of swapping lenses all of the time.

The only problem with that is the bag is incredibly small on the inside when compared to what it looks like from the outside. There are several areas where the designers got it almost right, but no cigar.

The main camera compartment will not take my 2 bodies with lenses attached. For one thing the viewfinders stick either into the laptop compartment or out towards the outside of the bag, which in turn does not let the top of the camera compartment close properly, which means the main outside flap does not close well. You can even see in the product pictures that one of the cameras has its viewfinder bulging out. This area measures 13″W X 5″D X 11″H, about 715 sq. in. I took off for the rounded corners which only make the curved space unusable. In comparison, my Lowepro Slingshot 200 has 624 sq. in. in its main compartment, and its all accessible, as well as the bag being $200 cheaper. My Pacsafe duffel with the photographic insert, which I would not carry around but it’s good for transport, is less imposing than the Crumpler, but has a whopping 1760 sq.in. of space, all of it usable as it loads from the top.

If you `stack’ your equipment as they suggest, you’ll find yourself taking everything out of the bag, and removing all of the dividers to get at the bottom. Then of course you need to put everything back, and the dividers are a pain as they stick like glue to anything. I bought a new lens and that with the body attached is 13″ long, the bag is 11″ deep, doesn’t fit. Speaking of dividers, they are a puzzle to figure out, I never have. The bag comes with a complete extra set, I assume for a second camera. This would all be easier if Crumpler supplied some diagrams for different configurations.

So, what I do is put the tripod (Gitzo traveler fits without the head on) on the bottom of the inside, put a layer of dividers in, then put the camera in across instead of vertically. I can at least carry my tripod and camera with long lens somewhat stealthily but nothing else will fit in the bag. Not even a tiny lens.

Putting anything in the top area (shown with the mesh) causes the flap to not fit square, and the handle will no longer be at the top but at an angle. Nothing will fit in the back pocket, I had to force an Elastolite reflector in there with the rain cover. The tripod holder is on the bottom, which might be OK for a backpack, but whenever you set this thing down it falls over. I tried putting my tripod on the front, but then when you open the case it falls to the grund if you’re not careful. Supposedly it holds 18 CF cards, I could get only 4 in, the pockets are too small for any more unless you take them out of their cases, no thanks. The bright safety orange interior is great - except that when you close the bag, the side flaps stick out, acting like a beacon to potential thieves that something good is inside.

I don’t know how they made that video, although I save seen a magician pull rabbits out of his hat. I do know that their pictures are all of an open bag, as it would be miracle if you could close it, and if you did it would look bloated like a pig.

The quality is great, hence the 2 stars, but I’m really disappointed that I had to carry an extra camera bag on the plane because my equipment wouldn’t fit in this bag, not even close. I’m even more disappointed that I can’t walk around with 2 cameras ready to go like it shows in all of the pictures.

i should have returned it when I had a chance, but I was on a deadline and frankly tired of shopping for a bag. Do yourself a favor and go to a store and look at this bag, take your equipment along and see if it fits before you buy it.

VERY Useful and Clear — and Excellent
I taught out of this text for several years. It’s excellent. The materials are sensibly organized; the writing is clear without being juvenile; and the legal analysis is flawless.

Students respond well to the book.

This is one of the best texts that I’ve ever used in any class, and it’s certainly the best text that I’ve found for teaching business law to non-law students.

Bobobo has been one of my popular anime for a while and I’m blissful to spy that it’s finally getting an unedited DVD release. It’s not for everyone but if you like extremely strange, wacky, and random humor Bobobo is for you.

Now about the DVD itself. First the noble news, it’s unedited, has excellent video quality, and the english dub, while heavily localized in spots, is very noble. Unfortunately, the lack of great subtitles to accompnay the Japanese language track is a titanic dilemma. Instead we impartial procure the closed captioning text for the English version. Plus, they don’t even finish on the cloak long enough for anyone except a run reader. These problems, and a few other more minor flaws knocked two stars off my rating.

If you don’t mind sticking to the English dub or can teach Japanese the problems won’t bother you too great. And, short of imports or illegal downloads this is the only scheme to catch your hands on an genuine prove.

Bobobo is a very quirky and random anime. They are constantly cracking jokes and making parodies of other manga and anime. I really be pleased watching this and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys anime and over the top humor.

REMOTE ACCESS ONLY WORK FOR 48 HOURS AFTER YOU REBOOT THE DVR
I have had this DVR for 9 months. I have had to make 15 calls to customer service for this DVR to try to set up remote access from another computer when not at home. First, when you call Swann expect at minimum, a 20 minute hold time. On average 35 minutes and up to an hour and 10 minutes. (Often you will call and simply get disconnected from the call after punching “push 1 for tech support” —- sudden disconnect - no message, nothing)

Each time I have called, depending on who I talk to, I’m given a different thing to “try”. Often 1 Rep will reverse what the previous one told you do do. They are polite and friendly when you call (with 1 very notable exception), but nobody really seems to know how to fix a problem.

I have taken 6 trips in the past 9 months and before each trip I have tried to get the thing to work right by calling Swann. In the course of getting help over the phone, one step is to reboot the system - and this is the trick (it took me 9 months to figure this out on my own, surprise, surprise nobody at Swann told me about it) and that is what fixes it - not all the different things thy tell me to try… but rebooting it only fixes the problem for 2-48 hours. So… when I leave on my trip… check it the next day… I cannot get remote access. Of course, I could fix the problem… if I was home to reboot the DVR. (The problem is not my dynamic IP address updating - I’ve checked before and after I’ve left to see the IP address unchanged)

Let me give you of an example of a day dealing with Swann Tech Support - this was yesterday.

Call number #1 (40 minute wait)I got Kelvin on the phone - this is the one notable exception. He is extremely rude and condescending. Don’t ask any question because he will let you know how stupid you are and how smart he is. I explained to him that I finally figured out, not what the problem was, but what fixes it - rebooting the system. His “try” was a NEW, JUST RELEASED firmware update that would fix all my problems! I’ve heard similar 14 times before.

I said I’d try it though. He emailed me the firmware update - (for the wrong model DVR I found out after I opened the email). At the end of the call I asked for the number for management because I did want to say something about the long wait times. I know that never makes a difference, but I wanted to try anyway. He told me to tell him. I told him I wanted to speak to someone in management, not tech support about the long wait times. He told me he was a supervisor (turns out he’s not), finally he gave me the a number in the US.

Call #2 - I called Customer Service in the US and explained my situation regarding my problems not being able to ever get this thing working right to the woman who answers the phones, all the managers were on the busy - they were suppose to call back - That was yesterday, no calls back. She also left a message with Hugh, the real supervisor at Tech support in Australia, she said he would call back at 4:30pm yesterday… he never did.

Call #3 Back to tech support. (40 minute wait) I got Christan on the phone. I very polite nice guy, I explained my situation to him and he read in his notes that Kelvin suggested the firmware, so he said, “let’s try the firmware update”, he directed me to the correct firmware update at the Swann website and after 30 minutes we reached a step he was unsure about, he said Hugh knew the system better than he and I’d get a call back within the hour. That was 16 hours ago.

During my wait, I decided that I did not want to “try” the firmware “update”. Since nobody told me “ahhh, I know what’s wrong, this firmware fixes your issue” I realized this was just the latest thing to “try”. I figured at least the DVR records now, it records while I’m away. I just can’t check it until I get back.

I have no confidence at all that if we “tried” to update the firmware, I might have a much bigger problem which would lead me to having to replace the entire unit and have to probably wait a month to get the new one (only to have to call tech support again, more wait times, to set it up again… and my guess is I’d probably have the same problem anyway)

I just reached a point where I finally had to say to myself, I’m just wasting a tremendous amount of time on this and my confidence that whatever they tell me to try will not work.

I’m looking into other DVR manufactures now.
